BOX POOL 101

FOOTBALL BOX POOL EXPLAINED

A Box Pool is a grid with columns & rows. The Home Team is on top & Away Team on the left side. The top team represents the column numbers & side team the rows.

Our Box pool is a 10x10 grid with 100 boxes (or squares) labeled #1-100. Players pick the box number(s) they want, which supplies them with their LOCATION of the grid only.

After ALL the boxes are selected, numbers (0-9) are drawn at random, for the columns & rows, independently. Prizes are awarded at the end of every quarter: 1st, Half, 3rd & Final.

How do I read a Box Pool?
Here's an example of a Single line box pool. The rows and columns are labeled (0-9) in order for ease of understanding. Our numbers are drawn completely at random and most likely will not be in order.

The score of this game at the end of the 1st quarter is 10-15.

The Packers are the team on top & represent the columns, and the Long Horns are on the side & represent the rows. We use the LAST DIGIT of the score only, so it will be 0-5. We interpret this as: column labeled 0-row labeled 5.

First, we locate the column labeled 0, then the Row labeled 5. The box where they intersect of the grid (where they meet) is the winning box. In this example, "Z" wins the 1st quarter.

Again, this is example is flawed because the #s will not necessarily be in order.

QUARTER LINES
Our Box Pool takes it a step further and uses Quarter Lines. This means that players' numbers change every single quarter.

For the 1st quarter, you read the 1st quarter columns & rows. For the Half, you read the Half columns & rows, etc. It requires a little more work making & reading the pool, but for those players stuck with unfavorable numbers, they get new ones next quarter
